Applied Kinesiology

Applied kinesiology (AK) is an non-invasive diagnostic method which uses muscle testing to assess body functions. AK uses a functional approach to understanding how the body functions as well as the causes of dysfunction. A functional approach views the body as a whole and understands that there may be many factors contributing to any issues a person may be having.  The triad of health suggests that the basic causes of health issues are structural, chemical, and mental. AK seeks to determine the cause of any issue and practitioners work to restore balance using a variety of techniques that may include nutritional supplementation, dietary management, joint manipulation, acupuncture, reflex procedures, assessment of environmental irritants, or counseling. Many different types of healthcare practitioners use applied kinesiology in their practices including chiropractors, osteopaths, medical doctors, acupuncturists, naturopaths, psychologists, and even dentists.

Dr. French is certified in applied kinesiology. He uses this method in combination with other techniques depending on the needs or requests of each patient. If you’d like to learn more about AK, be sure to ask Dr. French.
